Three time Grey Cup Champion, Henry Burris, will headline the 2017 Regina Thunder Dinner of Champions at the Delta Regina on Friday May 26, 2017.
Fresh off a Grey Cup Championship win the Ottawa REDBLACKS, Henry Burris has recently announced his retirement from professional football. A two time Grey Cup MVP and two time Canadian Football League Most Outstanding Player, Henry will share his thoughts on what it takes to be a champion.
Henry won three Grey Cup championships, two with the Calgary Stampeders, in 1998 and 2008 and one with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2016. At the time of his retirement Burris was third in all-time CFL passing yards and passing touchdowns. While playing in the Canadian Football League, he was also a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats and spent time in the National Football League with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. Prior to his professional career, he played college football with the Temple Owls.
Also joining Henry will be some surprise guests. More will be announced as the event approaches.
The Dinner of Champions is the year’s largest fundraiser for Regina’s junior football team, the Regina Thunder Football Club. Funds raised are used for the operations of the club and to support the team’s Player Scholarship Fund. All junior football alumni, fans, parents and general public are welcome to attend.
